This Privacy Policy outlines our data collection, processing, and retention practices in strict accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, and other global data protection frameworks.
1. Information We Collect
To deliver a personalized astrological and AI-driven social experience, we strictly collect only the data necessary for the functionality of the App:
- Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture (facilitated securely via OAuth authentication providers like Google Sign-In).
- Astrological Data (Sensitive Data): Exact date, time, and geographic location of birth. Because this is deeply personal, it is treated with the highest security.
- User-Generated Content: Chat prompts submitted to the AI, saved readings, notes, and messages sent via the "Circle" feature.
- Circle Social Data: Display name, username, public chart summary, and social connections.
- Purchases & Subscriptions: To manage premium features, we collect and store: subscription status, products purchased, purchase/transaction identifiers, renewal/cancellation/expiration status, RevenueCat App User ID, Firebase UID, and Dakshana credit purchase records. We do not receive or store your full credit card, bank, or raw payment details. All payment processing is securely handled entirely by Google Play. We use RevenueCat solely to verify, restore, and manage your purchase status.
- Technical & Diagnostic Data: Device identifiers, OS versions, IP addresses, crash logs, and anonymized usage metrics via Firebase Analytics.
2. Artificial Intelligence Processing (EU AI Act & Data Protection)
Bhrigu AI utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate insights. You explicitly consent to the following processing mechanisms:
- Prompt Processing: The astrological parameters and chat prompts you submit are transmitted to our secure AI API providers (such as Google Gemini/OpenAI APIs) to generate responses.
- Anonymization: We employ strict data minimization. Your personally identifiable information (Name, Email) is stripped and never transmitted to third-party AI models. Only raw astrological coordinates and your text prompts are processed.
- No Training: Your private data and chat transcripts are strictly partitioned and are never used to train third-party foundation models.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your data is utilized strictly for the operational functionality of the App:
- Generating customized astrological charts, daily horoscopes, and AI chat responses.
- Facilitating the "Circle" social features, allowing you to connect and share compatibility metrics with other users.
- Providing customer support, investigating safety reports, and enforcing our guidelines.
- Maintaining security, preventing fraud, and ensuring app stability.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosures
We respect your privacy and employ a strict No Sale of Personal Data policy. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
- Infrastructure Providers: We utilize Google Firebase for secure authentication and database hosting (Data Processors).
- Payment & Subscription Processing:
- Google Play Billing: Handles all payment processing securely.
- RevenueCat: Used for subscription and purchase verification, restoring purchases, and syncing entitlements across your devices.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if legally compelled by subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Bhrigu AI, our users, or the public, particularly in cases involving child safety (NCMEC reporting).
5. User Rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA & India DPDP Act)
You maintain absolute control over your personal data. Regardless of your jurisdiction, we grant all users the following rights:
- Right to Access & Portability: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You may update your birth details and profile information at any time within the App settings.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the absolute right to request the complete and permanent deletion of your account and associated data. This can be executed instantly within the App via the Profile screen ("Delete Account").
- Right to Restrict/Object: You may object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.
- Right to Nominate (India DPDP Act): Users in India have the right to nominate another individual to exercise their rights in the event of their death or incapacity.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)
Our App is restricted to users who are 13 years of age or older (or the age of legal majority to consent to data processing in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data without verifiable parental consent, we will immediately terminate the account and purge all associated data from our servers.
7. Data Security and Retention
We implement commercially reasonable, industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest on our secure servers. We retain your data only for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your profile, authentication records, astrological history, chat logs, and Circle connections are permanently purged from our active databases.
